---

I am pleased to announce approval of funding for a 2 year papermaking
apprenticeship, based directly on Lynn Amlie's original design for
this professional training opportunity.

This is a two year commitment, half time during the academic
semesters, and each summer following. Pay is $8.00/hour the first
year, $10.00/hour the second year. There is a slight chance the
second year will change to a UI funded half time research
assistantship position.

Additional part time hourly positions will be available to qualified
individuals the first year.

Priority will go to individuals who have already volunteered or worked
at the UI Center for the Book Oakdale Paper Facility, taken one or
more courses from Tim Barrett or Lynn Amlie, or otherwise demonstrated
their interest in and professional commitment to traditional hand
papermaking.

If you are interested in any of these positions please respond as soon
as possible via email and I will send you related details and an
application form.

Applications and supportive materials are due July 5th, decisions July
9th.

Please pass this message on to anyone you think may be interested and
qualified.

T. Barrett
