Job: Printing and Graphic Arts Project Assistant
Duties/Description: Under the supervision of the Curator and Assistant Curator
of Printing and Graphic Arts, organizes, re-houses and
catalogs the department's collections of woodblocks,
copperplates, lithographic stones, etc; printing equipment;
and bookbinding equipment.


Note: This position is for 10-15 hours per week. Qualifications: B.A. degree and some library experience preferred. Familiarity with cataloging standards and controlled vocabularies. Experience using automated systems (word processing, spreadsheets, relational databases) in a library or office environment. Ability to work independently, with accurate attention to detail. Ability to lift heavy boxes (40 pounds). Desirable: knowledge of printing history and techniques, including illustration processes; experience with letterpress printing and related skills; reading knowledge of European languages.
