in Dublin, don't miss the The Chester Beatty Library. It used to be on the
outskirts of Dublin, but now it's in the city, on the site of the gardens of
Dublin Castle.

Founded by Sir Alfred Chester Beatty in 1950, it has a spectacular
collection of East Asian and Islamic manuscripts and art. The collection
also includes Western manuscripts including early papyri, other early
Christian manuscripts, western prints and printed books. The Library also
The Library also mounts special temporary exhibitions, (generally 2-3 per
year).

Chester Beatty was an American who moved to London after the death of his
first wife. His ancestry was Irish, which accounts for him building a home
for his collection there.
