information about RBS 2005 course offerings, consult the RBS Forthcoming
Courses list at:
    <http://www.virginia.edu/oldbooks/rbs/forthcmg.pdf>
There will be three RBS 2005 July sessions, running 11-15, 18-22, and 25-29
July; see the Forthcoming Courses list (address above) for the story so far.

RBS DOMESTIC DEVELOPMENTS Jolene Kidd and Michael Kidd resigned from the RBS staff in mid-July and took other positions at UVa. The current RBS full-time staff, which includes Nathaniel Adams (Assistant Director for Programs) Barbara Heritage (Curator of Collections) Amy Ward (Office Manager) represents an increase of half a position (BH's predecessor, John Buchtel, was employed half-time as RBS curator of collections). The collections-staff increase is particularly welcome: in September (with the opening of UVa's new Harrison|Small rare book building), the UVa Library turned over a large shelved basement storage cage to RBS. The new area (which contains nearly 3,000 feet of shelving) triples our storage capacity. The RBS collections continue to grow apace, as those who have attended recent Printing Surfaces or other evening Museums in Charlottesville can attest. The new space will enormously facilitate our ongoing cataloging and preservation activities.
