[BKARTS] Peter Kruty & Jim Sherraden in Boston

Please come meet special guests Peter Kruty and Jim Sherraden of Hatch Show
Print, who will be coming to the Boston area this month as part of the
"Breaking the Mold" exhibition of letterpress work at Endicott College and
Montserrat College of Art.

The exhibit, entitled "Breaking the Mold: Contemporary Perspectives in
Letterpress Design" will be on display from November 1-30 at the J. David
Broudo Gallery at Endicott College, 376 Hale Street, Beverly, MA, with a
companion show of the work of Peter Kruty at the 292 Gallery, 292 Cabot
Street, Beverly, MA, from November 1-12.

The show includes works from some of the most innovative practitioners of
the art and craft of letterpress in the U.S. Pieces include the more
traditional, exquisitely crafted works with handset type, as well as digital
works produced from computer files converted to plates for relief printing.
Pieces in the show range from miniature books to posters and broadsides and
other printed matter that are produced primarily via letterpress printing,
either through traditional or digital means or both.

There will be several opportunities to meet our visiting artists:

Master printer Peter Kruty will be on hand to give a slide talk on Friday,
November 12, at 7pm at the Art Center Lecture Hall, Endicott College.

Peter Kruty will also be teaching a hands-on workshop for Endicott and
Montserrat students at the Imposition Press at Montserrat College of Art on
November 13. (Closing reception after the workshop at the 292 Gallery in
Beverly.)

Jim Sherraden of Hatch Show Print will be speaking on Wednesday, November
17, also at 7pm at the Art Center Lecture Hall, Endicott College
