URBAN MOTION: Sculpture and Artist Books by Alice Simpson

Exhibit continues through Monday, November 15, 2004

New York, NY -- An exhibit of urban sculpture and hand painted Artist Books
about contemporary dance. New works include "Urban Motion," (12" x 10" x . 50"
x 60" open) a unique accordion artist book with encaustic covers and vigorous
pen and ink drawings of Hip-Hop rapsters on Arches.

These drawings inspired a new series of sculptural works on view:   "Street
Wise" and "Urban Legend," "Hip-Hop" and "Tribute."
Simpson continues her observations of the ballroom with bodacious ladies
anxiously, "Waiting To Dance."
"A Midsummer Night's Swing" is on special loan from Lincoln Center Library
for the Performing Arts--Jerome Robbins Dance Collection (NYPL)
