[BKARTS] Subject: artists' books for visually impaired

There's an extraordinary book installation that was done by south African
artist, Willem Boshoff in 1995 at the Johannesburg Art Gallery: he made a
"Dictionary for the Blind" - a large installation where he created a series
of sculptural forms in box like structures - on top was a plate written in
Braille that was the denotation of a word that had to do with morphology.
Inside this box-form, was a wood carving that referenced the shape. I saw
his letter "A" - which filled a very large gallery. His work and ideas are
quite extraordinary.
