MINNEAPOLIS BOOK ARTIST SUSAN HENSEL TO EXHIBIT ARTIST'S
BOOKS AT THE WORD & IMAGE GALLERY IN TREADWELL; EXHIBIT
RECEPTION SUNDAY,  JUNE 12

Treadwell, NY -- The Word & Image Gallery will open its third solo exhibit of the 2005
season - "Story-Driven," by Minneapolis book artist Susan Hensel. There will be
an opening reception with gallery talk by the artist on Sunday, June 12, from 3-5 p.m.
The exhibit will remain at Bright hill through June  exhibit will
open on Sunday, May 8, with a reception and gallery talk by the artist, from 3-5 p.m. and
will remain in the gallery through June 24. Regular gallery hours are Monday-Friday, 10
a.m. - 4 p.m. and during Word Thursdays readings. The Word & Image Gallery is
located at Bright Hill Center, 94 Church Street, Treadwell, one block north of Barlow's
General Store on Route 14.
        Susan Hensel was raised in the Finger Lakes of New York in the 1950s. She
traveled the world as a young teen, living in Taiwan in 1962, and circumnavigating the
rest before she entered high school. Susan studied at Cornell University and in Perugia,
Italy, before attending the University of Michigan, where whe earned a BFA in painting
and sculpture. Susan's exhibition history covers more than 30 years. her work has been
exhibited in competitions, galleries from coast to coast, museum shows, and is
represented in collections in this country. In 2004 she was a second place winner in the
Third North America Bright Hill Press Juried Book Arts Exhibition. She owns and
operates a gallery, Susan Hensel Designs, in Minneapolis.
        Word Thursdays/ Bright Hill Press's 2004 programs are made possible, in part,
