Re: [BKARTS] Electronic "paper"

> Book artists take note, it's getting closer:

The link's not working, but a quick Google (Fujitsu electronic paper) gives
the news on other sites.

I've been watching and thinking about this development for some time. I
think it presents some real opportunities for book artists. After all, if
they're only going to own one book and reload its contents over and over,
many people would want it to be a *beautiful* book.

There would be challenges. The choice between adapting existing book
structures (power and data cables under spines like raised bands, how to
inset a display panel into a leather cover) and the chance to invent new
ones will be exciting. And since it's technology, we'll need to think how
we can allow owners to swap out dead pages for new ones, or upgrade their
sheets entirely.
