Re: [BKARTS] PVA mix

For small projects, I usually "play if by ear" so to speak. I make a
small thing of wheat paste and always have my PVA on hand. Sometimes
when using just wheat paste, I just add a dab of the PVA (depending on
the materials I am working on) just to give it that "grip" before it
dries altogether. And the same goes with when I need more time before
the PVA dries, I will add a touch of the wheat paste to it. For large
batches, I agree a 50/50 mix works well.

I've often heard that to extend the drying time of PVA one can add
methyl cellulose or wheat paste. 1) what are the proportions of the
mixture; 2)do you use the dry wheat paste or methyl cell. or do you
already have it mixed with water (and cooked if wheat paste) in usable
"paste" form before adding it?
