IMAGES AVAILABLE BY REQUEST

EVERETT,WA - Artwork created by 16 outstanding Everett Community
College alumni artists will be on display February during the
college's first Alumni Invitational Art Show.

"Potential Fulfilled" opens with a public reception from 5-7 p.m.
Feb. 1 at the Northlight Gallery in EvCC's Parks Student Union
building. The show will be on display at the gallery through Feb. 28.

"The Invitational is an opportunity to honor some of our very
distinguished alumni artists and share their work with the community,"
said EvCC art instructor Sandra Lepper.

The show is sponsored by the Everett Community College Foundation and a
grant from the Cooper Foundation. The Alumni Invitational was created to
celebrate EvCC alumni artists and the construction of EvCC's new Arts
and Sciences Building, Whitehorse Hall.

The show will feature a variety of artwork from selected alumni,
including photography, painting and sculpture.

Participating artists include: Craig Barber, Jessica Bigley, Randy
Binder, Amber Cash, Tim Ely, Tom Harris, Felix Haynes, Susie Howell,
Philip Kramer, James Madison, Cheri O'Brien, Dan Russell, Juliette
Ricci-Lagman, Regan Scheiber, Lisa Spreacker, and Phyllis Uitti-Maslin.

All say Everett Community College played a critical role in the
development of their artistic knowledge and skills.

"I carry my experience at Everett Community College with me every day
of my creative life," artist Regan Scheiber said. "Every time I step
foot in the darkroom or hold a camera to my eye, I am using and honing
the skills I learned through the photography and arts program at EvCC. I
consider myself very lucky to have attended the program and to have met
such wonderful, incredible people along the way."

EvCC art instructors also hope that the Alumni Invitational inspires
current students. EvCC offers associate of fine arts degrees in studio
art, graphic design, digital illustration, photography, and written
arts.

"Art is a career. It's an avocation and a vocation," Lepper said.
"This helps illustrate to students that there's a future beyond what
they're learning here and what they're learning here affects that
future."

The Northlight Gallery is in the Parks Student Union Building at
Everett Community College, 2000 Tower St. Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 2
p.m. Monday through Friday and 5-7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday.
