[BKARTS] Determining a correct cover size

Dear Meliva,

If your bookbinder is making cases from written specifications ahead of receiving the actual book blocks, it is unlikely that the fit of the final cover will ever be perfect. Large run editions of book blocks are manufactured mechanically, and even the slightest change in a machine setting can alter one or more of several measurements (most critically the 'swell') in the finished book block, resulting in a mis-fitting book case. The only guaranteed way of getting the case to fit correctly, is for the bookbinder to receive the blocks prior to them starting on the cases. Of course, if your binder is receiving the blocks prior to making the cases, then they have no excuse for mis-fitting covers!

I trust that his message finds you well.

kind regards,
