[BKARTS] Book Arts Event at the Free Library of Philadelphia, March 18th

Bound/Unbound: A Celebration of Artists' Books
The 7th annual Robert F. Looney Memorial Event
Saturday, March 18, 2006

Each year for the past six years the Associates of the Print and Picture
Collection of the Free Library of Philadelphia have held an annual event
-- a lecture or panel discussion, an exhibition, and a reception and
silent auction - in honor of Robert F. Looney, who was the curator of
the Print and Picture Collection from 1963 to 1986. While the exhibition
and panel discussion are free and open to the public, the reception and
silent auction are a fundraiser for the Print and Picture Collection. We
hope you will join us.

Artists and individuals from the Philadelphia area have generously
donated works on paper and artists' books for the silent auction. The
items for the silent auction are now on display at the Central Library
in the 2nd floor corridors outside the Art Department and the Print and
Picture Collection and will remain until mid-afternoon Saturday, March
18th. Each item has a descriptive label with information about the
piece, the artist, and the value and starting bid.

Individuals wishing to bid on any of the items must buy a ticket to the
reception and silent auction. All bids must be made in person at the
auction. Tickets are available in the Print and Picture Collection from
9-5, M-F and in the Art Department on evenings and weekends. Or call
215-686-5405 between 9 and 5 to reserve a ticket -- we take Visa and
MasterCard. Remember, all proceeds from the event help support the Print
and Picture Collection.
