The Rebirth Of Cool: Parchment Making in The 21st Century

Before paper and leather, there was parchment. Jesse Meyer, the only professional parchment maker in the country, will discuss this ancient craft, from its beginnings as a writing material created to challenge the Great Library in Alexandria, through its golden age in the European Middle Ages, up to it's revival and resurgence in book arts, conservation, calligraphy, the decorative arts and more. Process will be explained complete with photos in gory detail. He will also have a wide variety of parchment he produces available for display and purchase.
