Head's up on two wonderful book arts events in April:

ANGELA LORENZ: BOOK ARTIST FROM BOLOGNA
April 25, 2006 (Tuesday) 6:00-7:45 PM

Artist Angela Lorenz, visiting Oregon from Bologna, Italy, will be
presenting her very innovative and thought-provoking books in a
presentation, free and open to the public.  Co-sponsored by the
Portland/Bologna Sister City's Association, Angela will be talking about
her creative work, much of which she will bring with her.  This promises
to be a lively and enlightening evening.

CHARLES SELUZICKI: 30 YEARS AS A FINE PRESS PRINTER
Exhibition runs from April 27-June 19, 2006

Portland, OR 97205

Portland antiquarian and rare book dealer Charles Seluzicki has also
been a fine press publisher for the last 30 years.  He has had the
vision to combine writings by great authors including Seamus Heaney, Ted
Hughes, Czeslaw Milosz, Katherine Dunn, Charles Simic, and many others,
with skillful artists, binders, and printers to produce extraordinary
limited edition books and broadsides.  His entire body of creative work,
taken from Multnomah County Library's John Wilson Special Collections,
along with original manuscripts, correspondence and ephemera from the
publisher's personal collection, will be on exhibit for the first time
anywhere in Central Library's Collins Gallery.  

Opening Reception for light refreshments and comments by Charles
Seluzicki and Jim Carmin, Saturday, April 29, 2006, 2:00-3:30 PM
