[BKARTS] reminder: the second annual Summer Institute at the Wells Book Arts Center.



Space is still available in the Wells Book Arts Summer Institute, but
classes are filling fast. We invite you to register now! Classes are open to
students of all levels. Read on for details.
 
Session 1: July 9 to 15

An Introduction to Typeface Design"
Shanna Leino, "Late Coptic Bookbinding"
Katherine McCanless Ruffin, ³Hand-set Type:

Letterpress Printing²
 
Session 2: July 16 to July 22
Cheryl Jacobsen, "Obedient Servant/Expressive Voice: Exploring the Spectrum
of Calligraphic Art"
Margot Ecke, "The Girdle Book"
Robin Price, "Chance Operations and 
Fine Printing: 
17 things you need to
know as a poet"
 
Students choose one class of the three offered, and may take a class in each
session. Classes are limited to 8-12 participants. In addition to daily
classes, there will be slide presentations of instructors' work, 24-hour
access to the studios, and an optional field trip to the Press &
Letterfoundry of Michael & Winifred Bixler in Skaneateles. Classes are held
on the beautiful lakeshore campus of Wells College in the Finger Lakes
region of New York.
