Subject: Book Art at the Metropolitan..

Everyday the Metropolitan Museum homepage has a new featured work of art.
Today's featured work of art at the Met is a "detailed account of the
marbling technique, which gives a marbled or veined appearance to paper.
The marbled papers are most often used as endpapers and covers for books.

The Whole Art of Marbling as Applied to Paper, Book Edges, etc., 1881
Author: Charles W. Woolnough (British)
London: G. Bell, 1881
Illustrated book; 82 pp.; H. 8 1/4 in. (21 cm)

Purchased with income from the Jacob S. Rogers Fund (217.08 W881)"
