[BKARTS] Convivio Book of Days for August

Book Arts Folks:

It's August the First, and the Convivio Book of Days for August is now posted. Our focus this month is on Obon, a solemn and joyful Japanese festival, and one of the best things about summertime in South Florida. Hopefully Obon is taking place near to where you live, too. The image we've chosen is by poet Shin Yu Pai. It's called "The Floating World," and we think you'll really enjoy it. Click on "The Book of Days" at our homepage:

Shin Yu also happens to be the author of the book we'll be printing this month. It's called "Works on Paper." The subject matter of the poetry is wide and varied, but for the most part, it revolves around paper: How it is made, how it is used, paper as surface, paper in spirit. As book artists, we fell in love with these poems upon our first reading. We can't wait to get this book out into the world, and it should be happening this summer. We'll keep you posted.
