PDF is pretty much the only universal format for sharing documents. The reader is free and available for all platforms. With the full version you can also easily include scanned or any other kind of images. It's all no problem.

This is very helpful information. I am a bit nervous about it and my other question is about whether a PDF. is a suitable format for most platforms, or if people have a favourite e-book maker. I realize I am a bit off topic here so off-list suggestions are welcome and my apologies..I am thinking to stick with Reader Works...but I am not sure because I want to use/scan in my handpainted covers.
