Re: [BKARTS] book designing

i too would be interested in knowing about the process - especially the book publishing industry's li'l secrets about the actual procedure of getting a book designed and published.

Hi e,

I can give some info. about how the commercial guys do it, but in general, it has *nothing much* to do with book "arts"...LOL.

It's not really a secret, these days it's all about what will sell, and how fast. Inside book design is done as quickly as possible, using as much technology as possible. Even then, it usually takes about a year to get a commercial book out into the world. The covers are designed to appeal to a specific buying public, everything from the font used to the colors.
