[BKARTS] Rare Book School Scholarships

The following message has been sent to the Book_arts-L, ExLibris, and SHARP-L bulletin boards.

Rare Book School: Fall 2006 Scholarship Cycle

Thanks in part to generous grants from IMLS (see below) and from the Book Club of California, Rare Book School has more than 50 scholarships available for attending courses at the school in 2007 and 2008. Scholarship applications are available for download at:
Persons in the beginning of their present careers are especially encouraged to apply for RBS scholarship assistance.

In June 2005, the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), a federal agency, made a substantial grant to RBS for an expanded scholarship program, under IMLS's ?Librarians for the 21st Century? program: 50 IMLS-funded scholarships were awarded in the school?s fall 2005 cycle, and an additional 50 awards will be available in each of the 2006 and 2007 scholarship cycles.

The deadline this year for the submission of completed application files (some applicants will need to request a letter of reference) is 2 October 2006.

We?d be grateful if you?d forward this message to persons you know ? not on the bulletin boards mentioned above ? who might be interested in applying for an RBS scholarship.
