[BKARTS] CFE Calligraphy Show



CALL FOR ENTRIES (Deadline for Entries Oct 27)

 

     The Guilford Arts Center will present Responding to Our World, its
third international calligraphy show, next summer. Letter Arts Review
will publish the catalog for the show. The first two shows were 1999
Writing Beyond Words , 2001 Enigma. (The Guilford Handcraft Center is
now the Guildford Arts Center). Maureen Squires is again involved. The
LAR Issue/Exhibit Catalog for Responding to Our World will be
automatically sent to LAR subscribers as an issue of their subscription.
This show will be up for a month and a half during the high tourist
season in costal Conn.

 

     You are invited to submit work for RESPONDING TO OUR WORLD: Words,
Images, Gestures. June 29 to August 12, 2007. Guilford Art Center,
Guilford CT. DEADLINE: OCTOBER 27, 2006

     This is a call for traditional and nontraditional lettering,
calligraphy, letter carving, book art and fine art which employs hand
lettering or calligraphic marks as a major element. Computer generated
or altered lettering including graphic design and type design are not
eligible. Works created since 2001 are eligible (except those previously
published in Letter Arts Review). All works selected will be exhibited
at the Guilford Art Center and will be published in a LAR issue due out
in July 2007. JURORS: Maureen M. Squires, Branford, CT and Thomas
Ingmire, San Francisco, CA. ENTRIES must arrive by October 27, 2006.
