Re: [BKARTS] Photographer's artist's books?

You are correct. There is a distinct minority of book artists using the medium of photography.
I do not know why, perhaps because it leads to marketing difficulties, since there is no in place system or market base.
Also it leads to pricing difficulties, because the prices in the world of books are wildly lower
than the price in the photography world and the work involved using photography hugely increases the
time involved per copy.
Finally, the photography world seems to be logophobic. They do not read and are easily confused
by more than 17 world gathered together in one place. Books confuse them.

Nevertheless I have been at it for 30 years.

And I am glad to hear about the two or three others who are also clinically insane.

Subject: Photographer's artist's books?

Hi all,

Been hiding out lately, got a new camera, a new direction after major pain and suffering of a shoulder/elbow/wrist injury from painting and making woodcut prints! So now I'm snapping photos instead, and thinking about turning some of them into a small book.

I've been looking for other bookmaker's who use photography to illustrate their books and can't seem to find many (other than Jill's wonderful books).

Any links or info.? Thanks!
