[BKARTS] Cheerio

Monique Lallier will give a workshop on "Modern Oriental Binding Technique"
at Camp Cheerio, March 18 to 23.

This technique is very popular now in Europe and Canada as it keeps the
signatures untouched and allows working on the design on the covers before
fixing the covers to the book. It allows a perfectly flat opening of the
book. Modern Oriental Binding is most effective on smaller books i.e. no
more then 10-12 signatures. The height dimension doesn't matter. Pamplhlets
or 2-3 signatures are best to learn this technique with. It is also great
for miniatures as well. Class is open to anyone with or without experience
in bookbinding. Leather, paper or cloth can be used.

Included in the cost of this retreat are, the workshop, meals (15), and five
nights lodging. Camp Cheerio is located in a magnificent mountain setting
about 1 hour drive northwest of Winston-Salem, in Roaring Gap (near Sparta,
NC)

Total cost is $655. Deposit of $100. (non-refundable). Balance due January
31, 2007. Also available, private and semi-private rooms with private bath.
Semi-private room $735. Private room 795.
