[BKARTS] Stein Family Scholarship Fund for Advanced Studies in Book Arts

The Center for Book Arts is pleased to continue the Stein Family
Scholarship Fund for Advanced Studies in Book Arts in 2007. The Center
will award 2 scholarships to individuals who have demonstrated a
commitment to the artistic endeavors of the book arts. The purpose of
this program is to provide opportunities in New York City to
individuals committed to developing careers in the book arts field,
and to further the growth of this artistic profession.

Stein Scholars will receive free tuition for courses and 24-hour free
access to the studios to develop their work for one year. They will
have the opportunity to teach certain core courses at the Center,
depending on their background. Scholars will act as stewards in the
studios for a set specific number of hours per week, supervising
renters and volunteers in the printing and/or binding areas. No travel
or lodging reimbursements are available, though a small stipend for
materials may be provided in addition to teaching honorariums.

Full details about the program are available on our website at
http://www.centerforbookarts.org/opportunities/
Application postmark deadline is April 1, 2007.

If you have questions or require further information, please email
snicholls@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx or call 212 481-0295. Applicants are
encouraged to go to the Center's website and to visit to get a sense
of our gallery space, studio facilities and educational programs.
A panel will select finalists from submissions. Finalists may be
interviewed. All applicants will be notified by mail.

This program is made possible in part by the Howard Stein Memorial
Fund.
