Proclamations of Immortality: Rûmî?s Works in Modern Editions
May 1?August 18
2007 marks the 800th anniversary of the birth of the mystical Persian poet Jalâl al-Dîn Rûmî. Houghton Library celebrates with an exhibition of Rûmî?s works in the form of modern artists? books published by Vincent FitzGerald & Company. Illustrations by various artists accompany Persian calligraphy and English translations by Zahra Partovi.

Hours are 9-5 M-F, 9-8 Tue., 9-1 Sat.

Thursday, May 3, at 5:30 pm in the Tsai Auditorium, CGIS Building South S-010, Harvard University, 1730 Cambridge St., Cambridge, MA.  Following the lecture you are invited to a reception and viewing of the exhibition in Houghton Library.
  Curatorial gallery tour at 12 noon on Friday, May 4, at Houghton Library.  Zahra Partovi and Vincent FitzGerald, translator and publisher of the editions on exhibition will speak about their work.
