[BKARTS] Guild of Book Workers Standards of Excellence 2007, Dallas, TX



For GBW members, there is a full page article on page 6 of the February GBW newsletter announcing the 27th Annual Seminar on Standards of Excellence in Hand Bookbinding to be held Oct. 18 - 21 in North Texas at the American Airlines Training and Conference Center. http://aaconferencecenter.dolce.com/


Kitty Maryatt is the presenter for the Foundation Session (Oct. 18) focused on the issues faced making limited edition letterpress books.


Three plenary sessions (Oct. 19 - 21) feature the following presenters:
Chela Metzger - construction of medieval stationer's bindings, including the planning and execution of decoration, especially Spanish lacing patterns.
Roberta Lavador - Oregon-based book artist.
Stuart Brockman - demonstration of gold tooling on leather


One time slot will feature concurrent mini-sessions in which participants will select two sessions to attend based on their interest.
