[BKARTS] events in Portland Oregon



Just a reminder for those of you in the Portland Oregon area--
The Foicus on Book Arts Confernce is underway at Pacific University, Forest 
Grove, OR. There are several events open to the public.

Harmatan Leather will once again be at the Trade Show along with other 
vendors specializing in materials and supplies for the book arts. Here is your 
chance to see what’s new, to stock up on those hard to find supplies or be inspired 
by that special item you' have never seen before.
Trade Show Hours
Saturday, June 30 - 8 am - 8 pm
Sunday July 1 - 8 am - 5 pm

The In Focus Gallery features fine crafts from the hands of book artists. The 
Gallery is open to the public during the entire 2007 conference and is 
located in the beautiful Cawein Gallery in the heart of the Pacific University 
campus. This is a unique opportunity to purchase handmade books, broadsides, cards 
and other book related arts from professional artists as well as students of 
the arts. 
In Focus Gallery Hours
Thursday, June 28 - 8 am to 7 pm
Friday, June 29 -   8 am to 9 pm
Saturday, June 30 - 8 am to 7 pm
Sunday July 1 -   8 am to 2 pm

The Thursday night lecture will feature   Jim Carmin, John Wilson Special 
Collections Librarian. His topic will be, "Recent Book Arts : Are we content with 
content, or do we care, or does it matter?" 
The lecture begins at 7:30 pm and is held in the Taylor Auditorium. The 
lectures is open to the public. Tickets are $5.00
