[BKARTS] GBW Seminar open to non members



For the very first time, the Guild of Book Workers annual educational event-The Standards of Excellence Seminar in Hand Bookbinding-is open to non-members!

If you've ever been curious about this annual gathering, or would like to check out the Guild before joining, this is a great opportunity to do both. (It has not yet been determined if future seminars will be open to non-members.)

Where: American Airlines Training and Conference Center, Dallas/Forth Worth, TX

Foundation pre-session:

Presenters:

    * Roberta Lavadour: Original Binding Structures and Decorations
    * Chela Metzger: Creating Medieval Stationer's Binding Structures

    * Catherine Burkhard: Plain-Jane Restoration - Making Books Functional
    * Keith Owens: Design Principles and the Book
    * Priscilla Spitler: Behind the Design

A few more tidbits:
-The Dallas / Fort Worth (DFW) Airport is easy to get to from all points in the U.S.
-Free transportation from DFW Airport to the conference center; free parking on-site.
-2007 seminar fee lower than years past.
-Lodging fee lower than years past.
-Weather is great in North Texas in October.
