[BKARTS] exhibit in Chicago

Hi all --

I just returned from Chicago where there's a great exhibit up at the Columbia College Chicago Center for Book and Paper Arts: It's All in the Fold - More than Just Origami. The exhibit will only be up through July 25th, so hurry on over if you can. (1104 S. Wabash, 2nd floor, Chicago. Monday through Saturday, 10:00 to 6:00.)

There's a great range of works, from wonderful animals and such made from dollar bills (with the printed matter forming images, such as eyes), to Christine Edison's tesselations, to?inventive works (some tiny) by 13-year-old Ty Perez, to 125 works based on cirlces (many of them made from paper plates) by Bradford Hanson-Smith, to lamps by Ingo Mauer. Robert Lang and Michael LaFosse are also represented. Among my favorites were subtle works by Kathrin Biffi and Peter Weber. Great stuff, all in all, and beautifully hung by curator Bill Drendel.
