Fresh Impressions: Letterpress Printing in Contemporary Art
February 28 - March 20, 2008
Hoffman Gallery, Oregon College of Art & Craft
Curated by Inge Bruggeman and Heather Watkins

Description:
This exhibition will explore the relevance of letterpress printing in contemporary art, while seeking to define its significance to current artmaking practices. The show's premise is essentially a question: What voice does letterpress printing have that distinguishes itself from other mediums such as silkscreen, lithography, or digital printing? This exhibition will demonstrate a broad range of responses to this question, while creating a dialogue about the many ways letterpress printing forms and informs new and innovative work in contemporary art.

A small catalog will be published.

Submission Requirements:
1)Submissions may be all letterpress printed, but work that combines letterpress printing with other mediums (i.e. silkscreen, photography, drawing, painting, etc.) and/or that uses letterpress printing in three dimensional/sculptural work is strongly encouraged.
2)CV or Resume
3) Up to 4 works, maximum of 8 images, either digital or slides
4) List of work
5) Brief artist's statement
6) $10 entry fee made out to OCAC
7) Self addressed, stamped envelope for return of slides/CD
