 New:  BOOKBINDING FOR ARTISTS (All Levels Welcome) 
 Friday Evenings, 6:00-9:000PM, November 30, December 7, 14
 Complete your digital photos, writings, and artwork by creating an artist’s book. We will discuss your specific project as you gain the skills to bind single and folded sheets. Binding structures will include a pamphlet sewn structure, a variety of accordion folds, soft & hard cover Asian stab binding & precise ways to cover board and inset titles. Learn proper adhesive applications & techniques for folding, cutting, sewing & tool usage to ensure a neat, professional presentation of your artwork.

 Saturday, December 8, 10AM-1PM
 Experience the fun & fundamentals of 15th century letterpress: hand type-setting with moveable metal foundry type, origins of spacing & leading, composition, lock-up & inking on our Vandercook Uni III. A great introduction to printing beautiful impressions.
 5 Wednesday Evenings, December 5, 12, 19, January 2, 9: 6:00-9:00PM
 Concentrating on traditional restoration techniques, learn paper, spine and hinge repairs, re-sewing of loose sections, & cloth re-backing. Become more familiar with binding tools & adhesives & the structure of the book, as you restore the damaged volumes from your personal library.
 Weekend Sat/Sun 10:00AM-4:00PM, December 15 & 16
 In this weekend intensive learn to measure, cut, and glue with precision, as you construct a sturdy 2-tray clamshell box. This beautiful structure used to house a book or prints, is an art object in itself. Trays are lined with Japanese papers & box covered in silk book cloth.
