[BKARTS] Secrets and Lies Revealed at 23 Sandy Gallery

Handmade artist books are featured at 23 Sandy Gallery this month. The
national juried show themed Secrets and Lies is open through April 26,

Secrets and Lies showcases hand-made artist books exploring our
innermost secrets, lies, hopes, fears and wildest confessions. Real or
fiction. Storytelling or confessing. Raw and revealing or coy and
concealing. These handmade books make us laugh, make us cry, and even
make us squirm a little. The artists were encouraged to have fun,
play, truth or fiction, truth or dare as they explore the magical
world of artist books. This exhibit features book arts related
artworks, created in editions or one-of-a-kind. Artist books,
sculptural books, book objects, altered books, and broadsides are all

This exhibit was juried by Gay Walker, who is the Special Collections
Librarian at Reed College Library in Portland. Gay selected an amazing
group of works by 75 artists from around the world.
