[BKARTS] MCBA Revives Minneapolis Neighborhood

An article by Lisa Chamberlain in today?s Business
Section of The New York Times reports how literature
and the book arts are revitalizing a Minneapolis
neighborhood. According to the article after an early
attempt to attract dot-com businesses failed three
book-connected nonprofit organizations? Loft Literary
Center, Minnesota Center for Book Arts, and Milkweed
Editions, combined forces to create Open Book. The new
facility has attracted other arts organizations,
created new interest in the neighborhood, and allowed
all three of the original organizations to prosper.
The article includes color photos of Karen Wirth?s
distinctive staircase and Abigail Woods Anderson
operating a letterpress.
