[BKARTS] Guild of Book Workers Marking Time exhibit intent to enter form now online

The online intent to enter form for the Guild of Book Workers 2009-2011 traveling members exhibition Marking Time is online now until July 30, 2008.

Guild of Book Workers members are invited to interpret "Marking Time" as broadly or narrowly as they wish. Possibilities might include but are not limited to: a specific incident in or period of history, the future, science fiction, time as a scientific or spiritual concept, the measurement of time, current events or the role of time in one's own life.

An online submission form will be available beginning January 1, 2009 with a deadline of March 1, 2009. Only those filing an Intent to Enter form may submit work for jurying.

Jurors will be North Bennet Street School bookbinding instructor Jeff Altepeter; paper sculptor, book and installation artist, and teacher Melissa Jay Craig; and past Guild of Book Workers exhibits chair, binder, and Bonefolder publisher Peter Verheyen. Accepted work will be due May 1, 2009.

The show will open at the Minnesota Center for Book Arts in Minneapolis May 15, 2009, concurrent with Fellowship of American Bibliophilic Societies Tour and Symposium. The show then travels to the San Francisco Public Library, University of Washington Seattle, University of Utah Marriott Library, Denver Public Library, Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County, Lafayette College, Dartmouth College, and closes at Emory University in Atlanta in March, 2011.

Marking Time will be accompanied by both printed and online catalogs. All exhibition participants will receive a complimentary copy of the printed catalog.
