BOOK IT artist reception

Friday, August 1, 6 to 9pm

The Harrison Center for the Arts and IUPUI University Library and the Herron Art Library present Book It, Friday, August 1, 2008 from 6 to 9pm.   The Book It show will be a rare opportunity to promote artists' books as a field in the fine arts.  This event will include an exhibit of artists' books, plus a talk by IU Bloomington professor, Tony White, speaking on themes from the Herron book arts collection (6:15pm) and a special hands-on presentation and a talk by nationally recognized book arts dealers, Bill and Vicki Stewart of Vamp & Tramp Booksellers, LLC (www.vampandtramp.com<http://www.vampandtramp.com/>) (7:15pm).

In the gym - "Bookish," an interactive installation that will cross-pollinate fine arts with scrapbooking craft.

Performing in the courtyard at 8pm - Wolfy.

The artwork hangs through August 30th, 2008.
