BRIGHT HILL'S WORD & IMAGE GALLERY OPENS "THE HYBRID 
BOOK-WORDS, IMAGES, AND SPACE" by Philadelphia Book Artist and 
Printmaker Susan Viguers

Treadwell, NY, IN THE CATSKILL MOUNTAINS -- Bright Hill Literary Center's Word & Image 
Gallery opens the solo show, "The Hybrid Book - Words, Images, & Space" by Philadelphia 
book artist and printmaker Susan Viguers on Sunday, September 7, from 3 - 5 pm, during 
which there will be a reception for the artist and a gallery talk. The exhibit will continue 
through September 26; the gallery is open Mondays & Tuesdays from 10 am - 4 pm and 
Wednesdays from 9 am - noon and by appointment. The gallery is free and open to the 
public.
    SUSAN VIGUERS is Professor at The University of the Arts and Director of the MFA Book 
Arts/Printmaking Program at the University of the Arts. For 13 years (until 2004) she was 
Director of the University Writing Program. She has a Ph.D in English from Bryn Mawr 
College and has published extensively-scholarship in the areas of English Renaissance 
drama, pedagogy, and children´s literature, as well as creative nonfiction (With Child, 
Harcourt Brace Jovanovich), and poetry. Her artist´s books have been shown inumerous 
museums and galleries, among them, the National Museum for Women in the Arts, 
exhibitions of the Pyramid Atlantic Book Fair at the Corcoran, and the Bibliotheca 
Alexandrina (Egypt) and are included in many special collections at such institutions as Yale 
University, Columbia University, Smith College, University of Pennsylvania, Swarthmore 
College, University of California at Irvine, RISD, and MICa. She is recipient of the Lindback 
Award for Distinguished Teaching).
       Bright Hill Center's 2008 programs are made possible, in part, by the York
State Council on the Arts, the A. Lindsay and Olive B.O'Connor Foundation,
the Otis A. Thompson Foundation, the Walter Rich Charitable Foundation,
the Dewar Foundation, the A. C. Molinari Foundation, the Delaware National Bank
of Delhi, Stewart's Shops, area businesses, and its members and friends. Bright Hill's
Community Library & Internet Wing, which features a large collection of art and
art-related volumes, is free and open to the public, and is open Monday-Friday, 
10 am - 4 pm, and by appointment. For further information about Bright Hill Literary
