Computer generated art can be printed as beautiful giclee prints using archival inks, archival paper, etc., and would certainly be considered works of art. The problem arises, I think, when artists photographically reproduce something created in another medium (a painting, for example), make giclee prints, and sell them as original works of art rather than as reproductions. There's nothing wrong with reproductions, but they should be sold us such.
