[BKARTS] honesty in the marketplace ... was Re: [BKARTS] Etsy?

I don't understand what the problem is here. If etsy is selling things too cheaply for you, then it is not a market for you.

For years antique book dealers bought estate books for pennies a pound and proceeded to resell the best of them for thousands of dollars not even considering that they were cheating the widows and children of the original owners(read yokels). BUT let those same owners try to sell the same items for a bit more (but less than the antiquities dealers) on ebay and suddenly they are not being fair.

And yes free enterprise sucks - Surely that is evident from the state of our economy. The whole concept of "buyer beware" is based on the unscrupulous taking advantage of the uninformed. Why this concept of lying for greed was ever accepted as a business principle certainly puts a lie to us being Christian nations.

just my 2 cents,

Dave

**Same for used/rare book business...lots of "hobby" sellers and dumpster
divers on eBay, Amazon...People who are trying to run a legitimate,
thoughtful business based on years of experience and knowledge are losing
out to these yokels, who often misrepresent their wares or who really don't
have a clue. Customers who buy from them are often disappointed or
disgusted, which also spoils their enthusiasm for buying online.

**I think it's called "free enterprise" but golly, sometimes it sucks.
