[BKARTS] Lynne Avadenka Gallery Talk at South Florida's Jaffe Center for Book Arts

Michigan book artist Lynne Avadenka will be presenting a talk, as part of Florida Atlantic University Libraries' Kultur Festival 2009, on Friday, February 27 at 2:00 PM on the 5th Floor of the Wimberly Library (two floors above JCBA). Kultur Festival is a a celebration of Jewish music and arts, and Lynne's lecture is a ticketed event that is not a Jaffe Center presentation... and although we can't provide you with tickets, we can point you to Kultur's website:

You can learn more about the week-long Kultur festival and purchase tickets for individual events (or buy a festival pass) there at the website. Here's some information on the lecture:

Of the Making of Many Books There is No End*
Lynne Avadenka talks about her art inspired by Jewish themes

Lynne Avadenka will give an illustrated talk about her artwork, which is informed by two ongoing explorations: the notion of the book, as a singular object binding together a multiplicity of meanings and ideas, and Judaic themes: classic texts, history, ritual and ceremony.
