The Beautiful Book

At 23 Sandy Gallery in Portland, Oregon

23 Sandy Gallery is now taking submissions for “The Beautiful Book,” a
curated exhibition of handmade artist books that will show in the gallery in
June of 2009. We are looking for books that are simply beautiful,
aesthetically pleasing, exquisite. Books that use beautiful materials or
books that have beautiful imagery of any style. All books must be handmade,
either one-of-a-kind or limited edition, of any materials or subject matter
and all books must be for sale.

This is not a juried show, instead the show will be curated by gallery owner
Laura Russell. There is no cost to submit your work to this show. Artists
selected for this show will be responsible for shipping costs both to and
from the gallery. Artists selected for the show will also be asked to pay a
$25 “hanging fee” that will cover postcards, mailing and other publicity
costs associated with the show. Each artist will receive a stack of
postcards and will be featured with their own page on the on-line catalog
for the show. We will also produce a full color printed catalog for this
show that will be available for purchase.

To submit to “The Beautiful Book” please email up to three JPGs of each book
to 23sandygallery@xxxxxxxxxx JPG should be catalog ready and sized to 1000
pixels in the longest direction at 300 ppi. You may submit up to three
different titles.

Entries are due no later than Saturday, March 28, 2009.
