Hi Ann,
Thanks for this it clears up why I would want to be careful using tyvek as a housewrap without leaving an airspace but it still doesn't address the "shredding" problem. Anyone have any hard evidence with regard to this or UV deterioration?

problem with Tyvek deteriorating in buildings has been known about for years.
It is mainly due a surface reaction with the tannins found in cedar and redwood
sidings. It also reacts with stucco. A good short explanation can be found in a
