Walt Whitman and the Arts in Brooklyn

Did you know that Walt Whitman was acting librarian of the Brooklyn
Apprentice's Library (nucleus of the Brooklyn Museum Library) in 1835? 

Did you know that Walt Whitman wrote about the arts in Brooklyn
including exhibitions he saw at the Brooklyn Institute (formerly the
Brooklyn Museum)? 

Come hear representatives from The Walt Whitman Project
(http://www.whitmanproject.org/) recite from texts that Whitman wrote
about the arts in Brooklyn and from books that were in the Library when
Whitman was librarian. Representatives from Woodside Press
(http://www.woodsidepress.com/) will be on hand with a newly printed
chapbook of a Whitman poem on art and collecting.
