[BKARTS] Guild of Book Workers Marking Time exhibition opens in Minneapolis May 15

The Guild of Book Workers traveling exhibition Marking Time will open at the Minnesota Center for Book Arts on Friday, May 15, with a reception 6 pm-9 pm.

Marking Time features fifty works that will travel to nine venues across the country from May, 2009 to March, 2011. Fine binding, printing and artists' books are all well represented in the exhibition.

Marking Time will be accompanied by both printed and online catalogs. The printed exhibition features full color photographs and complete descriptions of all fifty exhibited works, biographies of the artists, and statements by the exhibition's jurors and GBW president and exhibitions chair.

Designed by Julie Leonard and Sara Sauers, whose work on the 100th Anniversary Exhibition catalog established a new benchmark for Guild publications, this new volume is a must-have reference and an important addition to all public and private bookshelves. It's only a matter of time: the last Guild exhibition catalog sold out even before the close of show's tour.

We offer a prepublication discount for orders placed on or before August 1, 2009. Catalogs will be available by September. An order form for the Marking Time exhibition catalog is online at:

The Marking Time exhibition will be online by mid-summer, 2009.
