	This exhibit by Wendy Fernstrum, a Minnesota artist, will be
at Bright Hill Literary Center's Word & Image Gallery through May 29,

BRIGHT HILL'S WORD & IMAGE GALLERY OPENS "HOLEHEARTED"
PRINTS & ARTIST'S BOOKS BY WENDY FERNSTRUM ON SUNDAY, 
MAY 3

           TREADWELL, NY -- BRIGHT HILL'S WORD & IMAGE GALLERY OPENS 
"Holehearted," an exhibit of letterpress prints and artist's books by Minneapolis artist Wendy 
Fernstrum on Sunday, May 3, from 3-5 pm. During the opening reception, the artist will speak 
about her work and answer questions. " The exhibit will continue through May 29;  the gallery 
is open Mondays and Tuesdays from 10 am - 4 pm and Wednesdays from 9 am - noon and 
by appointment and is free and open to the public.
     Wendy Fernstrum is the recipient of a Jerome Foundation/Minnesota Center for Book Arts 
fellowship in 1996 and a Minnesota State Arts Board grant in 2008. She writes, designs, and 
prints artist´s books under the press name of Fernwerks. She was artist-in-residence at 
MCBA in 2005. She received an MFA in creative writing at the University of Minnesota in 
2003 and a BA from the University of Michigan; she resides in Marine on St. Croix, MN. Her 
work, which has been included in Bright Hill´s Book Arts Juried Exhibits, is exhibited and 
collected nationally; the work has been shown in group shows at the UC San Diego Geisel 
Library, the Hoffman Gallery at the Oregon College of Art & Craft, the University of Southern 
California, and others, and in sola shows at Arcola Mills, Stillwater, MN; The Phipps Center 
for the Arts, Hudson, WI; Open Book, Minneapolis, MN, and Normandale Comm. College, 
Bloomington, MN. Collections that include her books are the Walker Art Center, Minneapolis, 
MN, University of Washington, Seattle; Maryland Institute College of Art, Baltimore; the 
University of Iowa, Iowa City, and others.
                    Bright Hill Center's 2009 programs are made possible, in part, by the York
State Council on the Arts, the A. Lindsay and Olive B.O'Connor Foundation,
the Otis A. Thompson Foundation, the Walter Rich Charitable Foundation,
the Dewar Foundation, the A. C. Molinari Foundation, the Delaware National Bank
of Delhi, Stewart's Shops, area businesses, and its members and friends. Bright Hill's
Community Library & Internet Wing, which features a large collection of art and
art-related volumes, is free and open to the public, and is open Monday-Friday,
