[BKARTS] Announcing a Recreation of the Declaration of Independence

Intima Press announces a new project: a Recreation 
of the Declaration of Independence
designed & printed by Mary Katherine Goddard

In 1777, Congress commissioned Mary Katherine Goddard of Baltimore to print the first copy of the Declaration of Independence to reveal the identity of the signors. Only nine known copies of the Goddard Broadside exist today.

Mindy Belloff will reproduce Goddard’s elegant two-column design, hand set in Caslon as the original, and letterpress printed on handmade cotton & linen paper. The edition will be housed inside a folio with an introductory text by Michael Inman, Librarian in Charge, Rare Book Division of the New York Public Library.

Approx. dimensions:  20 x 16 + folio with essays
Edition limited to 150
Publication scheduled for late 2009
